Top new signing: Dutch football league Eredivisie side join Sorare
The Dutch Eredivisie joins the digital football trading platform Sorare. This makes the football league the fourth to be available on the crypto-network.
The deal is fixed. The entire Eredivisie is now kicking on Sorare’s blockchain. This is according to a press release from the digital football trading platform, which BTC-ECHO has obtained. From now on, players can collect and exchange digital trading cards of all football clubs in the Eredivisie, such as four-time Champions League winner Ajax Amsterdam. In addition, footballers such as Dušan Tadić, Donyell Malen or Sebastien Haller can also compete against each other in Bitcoin Machine virtual matches. Well-known German players such as World Cup hero Mario Götze or national player Philipp Max are also represented. Marc Rondagh, Business Development Manager of the Eredivisie, said of the entry:
Our decision was largely driven by our enthusiasm for their (Sorare’s, ed.) ambitious vision to build a global fantasy football game with digital cards. As a pioneer in innovation, we are always looking ahead, to the future, to deliver new experiences to our fans. To constantly improve this and better showcase our clubs‘ brands, Sorare will allow us to reach new, young communities, especially in Asia and the Americas. We are proud of this new collaboration.
Sorare also opens up a new revenue stream for the Eredivisie by creating a new category for match licensing: fantasy football licensing.
Eredivisie already fourth football league with Sorare
The highest league in the Netherlands is now in an illustrious circle since its entry. Besides the Eredivisie, all teams of the Belgian Pro Leauge, the South Korean K Leauge, the Japanese J Leauge and the US Major Leauge Soccer (MLS) are represented on Sorare. In addition, real football heavyweights such as Bayern Munich, Juventus Turin or Real Madrid also kick on the virtual football pitch. BTC-ECHO has put the game under the microscope in a detailed test.
